If you make sure you enable background mode on the ‘Advanced Settings’ screen and lock your device after setting the alarm, you will significantly reduce the battery usage of the app. It sure looks like it would be possible to build an app that was less showy and much more useful. I have seen some conversation that there are shortcuts and home app customization that would allow you to use a smart receptacle and control the phone charging between lower and upper limits. The alarm does not work if you put the app in the background it seems to be constantly needing the screen displayed. It seems to be constantly monitoring the battery power instead of occasionally reacting to a timer event and seeing what the current percentage is. A lot of my battery usage was attributable to this app. The user interface for this app looked quite promising. More appropriately called battery discharger Support for integration with Personal Automation in the Shortcuts app, allowing you to automatically set an alarm when you plug in your device (paying customers only, requires iOS 14 or above) Auto dim display when standby screen is displayed Use alarm sounds from your music library (including Apple Music) Choice from several different alarm sounds Standby screen with current charge status Apple Watch support (requires external wireless speaker) Once you set the battery alarm, a stand-by screen is shown with a view on the current battery charge, and a dotted line showing the charge required before you will be alerted to stop charging your phone.
This is completely adjustable through an intuitive user interface, matching iOS design guidelines. You can set an alarm that will go off when the device is charged to the desired level. Battery Charge Alarm is an app that helps you charge your device to a specific battery level.
